Overview
The incumbent will investigate matters that impact Registered Nurse licensure student eligibility advancement/clinical progression and report to the Compliance Team Leader. The incumbent will utilize sound judgment to interpret and apply policies regulations and procedures and demonstrate initiative in handling non-routine situations. Requires the exercise of a high degree of confidentiality essential in the execution of administrative duties. Involves frequent contact with Registered Nurse licensees applicants student nurses schools of nursing employers other state and federal agencies hospital administrators regulatory agencies attorneys and law enforcement agencies in Louisiana and nationwide among others.

Three years of experience in accounting auditing administrative services building inspection real estate appraisal law enforcement investigations or in the issuance or recommendation of medical licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Receives information regarding actions or omissions by licensees and others that may represent a violation of the Nurse Practice Act;
develops and initiates investigative plan; conducts comprehensive investigations through interviewing securing evidence and information related to the matter under investigation analyzing records among other activities.
Timely notifies respondents of allegations/information in accordance with statutory requirements and case law.
Travels and establishes relationships with the employer. schools nursing community and others in assigned regions by among other means conducting site visits during investigations as much as practicable.
Prepares clear and concise written reports of investigations and attaches pertinent records to support the investigative report. Close investigation within the Priority or Complaints guideline.
Keep Compliance Investigator 4B informed of issues and concerns within the area of responsibility.
Utilizes the internal chain of command appropriately for communication purposes.
Participates in performance improvement activities continually improving all processes as opportunities for improvement arise.
Works cooperatively as a member of the team assisting and relieving other staff members as needed.
