Job Description:
As a Sr. Mechanical Component Engineer you will be tasked with supporting development of the next generation networking technologies for mobile ad-hoc wireless communications systems. Specifically we are seeking engineers with interest in mechanical part research selection sourcing and documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Research selection and documentation of mechanical parts like: machined parts & assemblies cases computer racks electronic chassis gaskets motors gears fans environmental control units test equipment tools trailers etc.
- Work with CAD tools and create drawings and figures.
- Work within PLM tool and manage large quantities of diverse types of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minimum of 4 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Applicants must be self-motivated and willing to work within company defined processes.
- Good written verbal and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical CAD tools (experience with NX is a plus).
- Familiarity with reading and creating mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Familiarity with tolerances and manufacturing terminology and processes.
- Ability to obtain security clearance (US Citizenship clear criminal background)
- Ability to travel 10%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM tool.
- Experience with NX CAD tool.
- Component Engineering experience.
