About the Company
Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer supplying high-quality food ingredients to customers across the UK.
Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to ensure production and site equipment runs efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining repairing and installing mechanical systems and machinery to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine setup installation and maintenance across production equipment
- Repair fabrication and welding tasks to maintain machinery integrity
- Pre-maintenance inspections and corrective actions
- Diagnose faults identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Support workshop operations and general machine tool usage
- Maintain and update work orders using CMMS systems
- Comply with health safety and hygiene standards
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship BTEC or equivalent)
- 5 years experience in mechanical maintenance within FMCG or food & beverage manufacturing
- Hands-on experience in equipment repair maintenance and installation
- Knowledge of industrial utilities (compressed air steam generation)
- Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills
- Proficient in safe use of hand and power tools
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of hygiene and safety in food production environments
- Experience with 5S and workplace organization systems
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently or in a team
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
