Job Summary
Amazon internships across all seasons are full-time positions and interns should expect to work in office Monday-Friday up to 40 hours per week. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
The AWS Support team is seeking engineers who enjoy learning cloud technology solving and troubleshooting complex issues and working with customers. You will be surrounded by people that are smart passionate about cloud computing and believe that world class support is critical to customer success. - Learn support and use groundbreaking technologies
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers individual needs
- Work on critical highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services
- Leverage your day-to-day customer support experience to provide the voice of the customer to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services
- Drive customer communication during critical events
- Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers technical support experience

As a Cloud Support Engineer intern you will learn at an accelerated pace how to use and leverage many different cloud technologies to help our customers succeed. You will act as the Cloud Ambassador across AWS products providing our customers with required tools and tactics to scale their impact in world-wide markets.
Key job responsibilities
Your day as a Cloud Support Engineer intern could include but not be limited to the following activities:
- You will be primarily responsible for solving customers cases through a variety of contact channels (telephone email and web/live chat) applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions and working with them to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
- You will drive initiatives that improve support-related processes and our customers experience. These can include tutorials how-to videos technical articles trainings among others.
- You will leverage your customer support experience to provide feedback to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services and work on critical highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services.
- You will be continuously learning groundbreaking technologies and developing new technical skills and other professional competencies.
- You will act as interviewer in hiring processes and coach/mentor new team members.
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication abilities
- Can work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
- Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
- Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud computing such as AWS Azure Google Cloud Platform etc.
- Experience demonstrating software engineering skills in a previous intership work experience coding competitions or publications
- Knowledge of OS concepts / Linux/Unix Systems administration (Ubuntu CentOS RedHat Solaris etc)
- Knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP DNS) /Database

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $34.18/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $76.39/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
