As we expand to meet growing demand were looking for a dynamic technical leader to join our this role you will lead a team of machining and assembly manufacturing engineers and CNC programmers driving excellence in highly technical manufacturing processes including automated and stand-alone machining assembly test and paint.
Youll play a key role in supporting complex engine manufacturing introducing new products to the line and spearheading continuous improvement and lean projects to boost productivity and plant efficiency. In this role you will:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of Assembly and Machining Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers.
- Determine and implement process improvements to enhance safety quality delivery and cost in collaboration with operations and design engineering.
- Create and execute a 5-year manufacturing capital plan and tooling budget managing CapEx projects and timelines.
- Leverage OEMs and contractors to install and optimize digitally connected equipment.
- Partner with Operational Leads on projects supporting new product introduction process development first-piece qualification and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and assist with analysis and resolution of complex challenges.
- Incorporate industry best practices for process capability tooling and manufacturing standards.
- Utilize capacity analysis and engine forecasts to plan justify and implement capital equipment or outsourcing strategies for volume ramp-up.
- Support TPM activities in collaboration with the asset optimization team.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field with 10 years of experience in machining and assembly or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comfortable with complex industrial automation including robotics machine tools testing and assembly equipment.
- Preferred experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Proven experience specifying purchasing installing and commissioning capital equipment.
- Experience managing quotes and installations with contractors and machine tool OEMs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor coach and inspire teams while driving organizational change.
- Background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement with prior process improvement assignments.
- Familiarity with ISO and 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of quality and reliability methodologies (pFMEA 8D etc.).
- Strong customer orientation sense of urgency and growth mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and leadership skills with proven success managing multidisciplinary projects.
