Job Summary and Responsibilities
Every day you will retrieve file and organize patient records (physical/electronic) ensuring completeness and confidentiality. Youll process information requests verify identities assist providers with access and conduct quality checks on scanned documents. Responsibilities include updating demographics handling correspondence and responding to inquiries per privacy regulations.
To be successful you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail strong organizational skills and proficiency in HIM systems/office software. Excellent communication and customer service coupled with a deep understanding of HIPAA and HIM principles are essential.
- Assemble patients health information in chart.
- Ensure all forms are accurately completed properly identified and signed.
- Ensure all necessary patient information is in the computer and up to date.
- Scan pertinent information into patients EMR.
- Obtain and handle medical record document requests from outside parties which may include subpoenas FMLA forms etc. for response and regulation compliance.
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate General Studies and 1 year related experience in a healthcare environment upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies and 1 year related experience in a healthcare environment upon hire
