Role Specifics and Benefits:
Key responsibilities and professional growth:
- Assess plan implement and evaluate respiratory care for a variety of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders including COPD ARDS post-operative recovery and critical care cases.
- Manage ventilator settings monitor alarms adjust therapy according to physician orders and best practice protocols and troubleshoot device function to ensure patient safety.
- Administer airway clearance techniques inhaled and aerosol therapies bronchodilators and adjunct therapies; interpret trends in oxygenation and gas exchange including ABG interpretation when required.
- Wean and liberate patients from ventilatory support as appropriate participate in rounds and collaborate with physicians nurses and the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans device use and breathing techniques promoting autonomy and confidence in self-care.
