Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Duration: 20 Weeks
Shift: Evening (11:00 AM 11:30 PM)
Schedule: 3 shifts/week 12-hour shifts
Pay Rate: $40$45/hr
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a Children & Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. This role requires prior psychiatric nursing experience with a strong preference for pediatric or adolescent patient care. The LPN will provide high-quality care in a dynamic inpatient environment and collaborate closely with the clinical team to support patient treatment plans.
Qualifications
Active New York State LPN license
CPR certification (must be current or able to obtain/renew)
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
Psychiatric nursing experience required
Pediatric or adolescent experience strongly preferred
Prior inpatient experience preferred
Strong communication teamwork and interpersonal skills
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient care in an acute psychiatric setting with minimal supervision
Observe monitor and document patient behaviors and treatment responses
Deliver nursing care under the direction of the RN or clinical supervisor
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Prepare patients for exams and maintain comfort and safety
Record vital signs and monitor patient progress
Administer injections and assist with clinical procedures
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and clinical areas
Support unit workflow including appointment scheduling and chart preparation
Collaborate with insurance providers to obtain required authorizations (PT MRI CT procedures)
Secure referrals from primary care providers as needed
