DescriptionTITLE: Product Engineer II
DUTIES:
This position will play an integral part in McLaren Performance Technologies Inc.s Product Design team as well as the Manufacturing and Project Management departments to manage and monitor various product development projects. Working closely with the team and department candidate will be required to define analyze and document prototype builds and testing to support the development of companys components and systems.Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Creating and monitoring development plans while interpreting product requirements and defining build processes including defining test requirements and procedures.
- Conducting internal and external project meetings.
- Conducting root cause analysis and problem solving as part of the development process with a view toward producing build and DVPR documentation.
- Analyzing and documenting product test results and providing product design improvement suggestions.
- Coordinating prototype production including necessary validation measures and testing activity.
- Coordinating with suppliers and internal development departments as well as international partners.
- Participating in the establishment and maintenance of a quality system to ensure compliance with ISO9001 requirements.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement process (quality cost and ergonomics); and
- Assisting manufacturing facilities in developing processes prior to manufacturing through Advance Quality Planning.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering Engineering Technology or equivalent; Foreign equivalency is acceptable
- A minimum of three (3) years of prior engineering experience in the automotive industry.
- A minimum of (3) three years of experience with design and development of innovative disconnect systems.
- Must have a minimum of (3) three years experience working on Linamars disconnect actuator concept development.
- Must have prior experience with development Data management (Teamcenter) processes bearing design and calculation metallurgy of metallic material tribology and surface fatigue technologies.
- Familiar with GD&T dimensional tolerancing and tolerance stacks
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements for component design
- Familiarity with DFMEA DVPR and Control Plans
- Experience writing technical specifications validation test procedures and test reports
- Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks to completion
- Ability to collaborate and work in team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- MS Office proficient
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly
- Experience with CAD/CAE is desirable
Hours: Full time (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) consisting of 40 hours/week
