Mission

The Business Developer will play a crucial role in driving the growth of Avestas Lithium battery energy storage solutions in Portugal. Your mission is to identify new business opportunities develop relationships with existing and potential customers convert these into orders and generate revenue while contributing to ongoing innovation in the Lithium battery energy storage space. You will have an annual order intake target and your actions will directly influence the companys market position and long-term success. This role requires abilities across the entire commercial cycle and involves extensive travel throughout Portugal as well as remote communication with headquarter management and support teams.

As a Business Developer you will work autonomously leveraging your experience and expertise to shape the business for Avesta in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop leads and convert them into valuable opportunities.

  • Identify develop and convert opportunities into purchase orders while following the companys commercial process.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities to ensure its health and meet purchase order targets.

  • Grow Avestas brand and product awareness in Portugal by promoting our Lithium battery energy storage solutions to both new and existing customers as well as new applications.

  • Contribute to Avestas market and application knowledge by staying informed about the Lithium battery energy storage market industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Work closely with internal teams (technical product marketing) to ensure seamless delivery of tailored solutions to customers.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or any relevant degree associated with business development or sales management.

  • Experience in battery energy storage electrical systems or similar technical fields with a proven track record in business development in project-based environments.

  • Skills:

    • Ability to manage the full commercial cycle from lead generation to closing deals.

    • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends competition and customer needs.

    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

    • Experience dealing with small to large-scale projects and industrial clients.

    • Fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese is essential. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

    • Willingness to travel frequently within Portugal and potentially to Avesta headquarters.
