Job Summary
The Greater Victoria School District #61 is looking to hire a 1.0 FTE (TEMP) Psychologist . This temporary position runs until April 17th 2026 or return of the incumbent.
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20000 students in the Greater Victoria Area encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3000 staff; which includes teachers principals and vice-principals support staff psychologists speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
The focus of the Psychologist position is on psycho-educational Assessments and collaborative consultation. This position is flexible on days and the amount of time in a week. Position is for Elementary Middle and High School assessments.
Please Note: As this position is itinerant the successful applicant must have a car and a valid BC drivers license.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate or Masters Degree in School Psychology or related field with a focus on school psychology including graduate training in measurement and individual psychological assessments.
- Demonstrated ability in consulting with teachers parents students and community agencies regarding the nature of students strengths and needs the educational implications and ways to enhance learning
- Demonstrated ability in collaborating with school-based and/or district personnel to design or implement instructional strategies and design or implement behavioural interventions
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Special Education Policies and Procedures
- Current Member in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
