ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
- Coach team members on Safety Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work.
- Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives.
- Monitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as the initial responder for secondary support.
- Verify the production lines safe and smooth operation and its output of quality parts through Process Confirmation.
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible level.
- Meet targets for First Time Through (FTT) inventory cost scrap supply and tooling expenses.
- Build the capability of both Team Leaders and Team Members.
- Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
- Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team.
- Perform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentation.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Education: College Diploma or Skilled-Trade Certificate of Qualification (CoQ). (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of completion for the highest level of education attained. If the diploma/degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
Experience:
- Experience working in manufacturing.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Availability to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/evening) as required.
Preferred Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in a related discipline.
- 1 years experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA. (collective bargaining agreement)
- Safety and Quality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook).
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power Take-Off).
- Helium leak stand experience (specific to Power Take-Off).
- Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Effective organizational and administrative capabilities.
