Responsibilities
Responsible for overall planning quality improvement activities and daily operations of the Blood Bank. Collaborates with others on operational planning fiscal human resources and quality management issues to assure that administrative systems techniques and procedures are appropriate for services. Maintains twenty-four-hour accountability for the Blood Bank.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Applicants must have completed (or be eligible for) an appropriate certification examination. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP NCA AMT AAB HHS (HEW)
- Four (4) years prior clinical laboratory experience.
- Two (2) years of lab supervisory experience.
- Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
- Certification-eligible applicants must pass examination within eighteen (18) months after school graduation or after moving to the state of Georgia.
- Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
PREFERRED
- Masters degree in science.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication mathematical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of information systems software applications and telecommunication systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to make decisions solve problems and promote laboratory services and organization to physicians and general public.
Work Hours:
Mon - Fri: 6:30am - 3:00pm
