Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer to design build and optimize scalable infrastructure platforms supporting mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in systems engineering automation cloud-native tooling and infrastructure reliability. You will work closely with DevOps Cloud and SRE teams to build robust secure and high-performing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Architecture

• Architect build and maintain scalable infrastructure platforms using cloud and on-prem technologies.
• Design standardized platform components including compute storage networking and container infrastructure.
• Drive platform modernization initiatives using cloud-native technologies automation and IaC.

Infrastructure Automation

• Develop automated provisioning and configuration using Terraform Ansible or similar tools.
• Standardize reusable infrastructure modules pipelines and deployment patterns.
• Enable self-service capabilities for development teams.

System Administration

• Manage Linux/Windows servers virtualization (VMware/KVM) container platforms (Docker Kubernetes).
• Tune performance for large-scale distributed systems and microservices environments.
• Conduct capacity planning monitoring and incident response.

Observability & Operations

• Implement end-to-end monitoring (metrics logs traces) using tools like Prometheus Grafana ELK Datadog or Splunk.
• Ensure platform reliability resilience and high availability.
• Drive root-cause analysis and improve operational excellence.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce infrastructure security best practices.
• Implement patching vulnerability remediation role-based access and secrets management.
• Work with security teams to meet compliance standards (ISO SOC2 PCI etc.).

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with DevOps cloud SRE and development teams to improve platform capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to shared engineering practices.
• Document processes standards and architectural improvements.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Linux administration shell scripting and system performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes Docker and container networking.
• Experience with Terraform Ansible or other IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Good understanding of networking: VPC subnets load balancers DNS VPN firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting automation and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with service mesh (Istio Linkerd) ingress controllers (NGINX HAProxy).
• Knowledge of FinOps or cloud cost optimization.
• Certifications: RHCE CKA/CKAD AWS SysOps Azure Admin etc.
