Job Description: Supply/Tactical Planning
The supply planner is responsible for creating a supply plan outside of the execution horizon (5 weeks). The position generates the supply plan that is converted by mill/tactical planners to execute across the supply chain. This includes close coordination demand sites and distribution to ensure supply plans schedules are feasible and meet both customer service and cost goals.
Utilize supply planning tools (e.g. optimizer or heuristic) to generate a supply plan in the planning (5 weeks) horizon.
Generate production plans that support efficient utilization of production machines (assets) materials and storage capacity
Generate raw material plans that balance vendor capacity and client storage capacity.
Ensure purchased finished goods projections are aligned with external manufacturers and to ensure customer service.
Generate finished product transfer movements that meet customer service in a cost-effective manner.
Maintain accurate planning information in SAP updating as needed based on material/product changes
Drive completion of special projects as related to supply planning
Required:
Bachelors Degree or higher in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain or related field
2 years of experience in Supply Chain/Operations at a site or staff level
Demonstrated ability to organize resources and analyze alternatives to make effective decisions
Strong communication and collaboration skills building trust with others
Strong analytical skillset and Microsoft Excel proficiency
Experience with supply planning software and corresponding analytic solver (e.g. APO or IBP optimizer Kinaxis heuristic)
Preferred:
Experience with SAP is preferred
