Lot attendants play a vital role in the efficient operation of a dealership. Lot Attendants are responsible for managing vehicle flow arranging vehicles on a lot and maintaining their cleanliness and organization. This role often involves tasks such as moving cars inspecting them for damage storing keys cataloging inventory and keeping the lot tidy and safe for customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Management:
- Parking and arranging vehicles in an organized manner to maximize space and keep the lot presentable.
- Keeps used-vehicle lots neat and orderly moving cars as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Maintains used-vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles replenishing all vehicle fluids as needed and replacing batteries when necessary.
- Places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles.
- Makes key tags for vehicles.
Lot Organization:
- Keeping the lot clean and safe by picking up trash organizing storage areas and ensuring all vehicles are properly positioned.
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks includes shoveling and salting as needed in the winter months.
- Assist in maintaining the bullpen (including mowing spraying and weedwacking)
Inventory Control:
- Checking in vehicles verifying serial and stock numbers and keeping track of inventory on the lot.
Customer Assistance:
- Assist with retail customers as needed.
- Provide local transportation to customers as needed.
Damage Inspection:
- Inspect any incoming or current inventory for damage or missing accessories/equipment
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
