Akamai Engineer / Akamai Administrator

Role Overview

The Akamai Engineer will be responsible for managing configuring and optimizing Akamai CDN solutions for high performance security and availability. The role includes supporting web application performance implementing security configurations managing delivery policies and working closely with DevOps Security and Application teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure deploy and manage Akamai CDN and edge delivery solutions
  

• Implement and maintain Akamai Kona Site Defender WAF Bot Manager
  

• Manage Property Manager Edge Workers and Akamai Control Center
  

• Troubleshoot CDN delivery caching routing and performance issues
  

• Implement content caching rules redirects and edge behavior logic
  

• Monitor traffic performance metrics and security events
  

• Coordinate SSL/TLS certificate management and renewals
  

• Integrate Akamai with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  

• Support zero-downtime deployments using Akamai tools
  

• Collaborate with DevOps and Application teams for release cycles
  

• Maintain documentation runbooks and operational procedures
  

• Handle incident change and problem management for CDN components
  

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Akamai Control Center
  

• Expertise in Property Manager Edge Configuration Caching Rules
  

• Experience with Akamai WAF Kona Site Defender Bot Manager
  

• Knowledge of Akamai Ion Adaptive Acceleration Image & API Optimization
  

• Understanding of Edge Workers / Akamai Cloudlets (edge logic scripting)
  

• Strong knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS DNS TCP/IP CDN architecture
  

• Experience in troubleshooting latency caching and routing issues
  

• Familiarity with DevOps tools: Git Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  

• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting (Shell/Python)
  

• Understanding of web servers: Nginx / Apache / IIS
  

• Knowledge of API integrations and automation using Akamai APIs
  

• Experience with cloud environments AWS / Azure / GCP is a plus
