Overview:
The Manager will play a crucial role in staff orientation and training performance management and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within the department. The position collaborates closely with the physician and administrative leaders across the addition the position entails oversight and coordination of relevant modality supervisors across operating units. The position reports to the Director of Radiology Operations for Enterprise Radiology for the respective imaging modality. Specific duties include the following:
Operational Oversight: Plan organize direct and manage the day-to-day operational administrative activities related to the provision of radiology services within an imaging modality including managing resources overseeing scheduling and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Staff Management: Manage and develop a team of radiology staff including technologists nurses and support staff. Ensure appropriate staffing levels provide training and development opportunities and address performance-related issues.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Establish revise and communicate policies procedures and related forms to ensure compliance with regulatory licensing and accreditation standards. Monitor departmental performance establish quality measures and standards and take corrective actions to prevent errors and improve procedures. Implement and monitor quality assurance programs and protocols to maintain high standards of patient care accuracy of imaging and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with the imaging modality director and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for workflow optimization process improvement and the implementation of best practices to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience. Proactively identify and resolve unexpected technical problems that occur within the radiology department. Collaborate with staff and other departments to find effective solutions and minimize disruptions to service provision. Resource Allocation: Assist in managing resource allocation including equipment supplies and staffing to optimize utilization and cost-effectiveness while maintaining service quality.
Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines safety protocols and accreditation standards such as those set by The Joint Commission (TJC) or the American College of Radiology (ACR). Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance identify trends and implement corrective actions as needed. Analyze departmental strengths weaknesses opportunities and constraints. Meet with staff to discuss progress and develop future courses of action.
Staff Orientation and Training: Conduct orientation and training programs for new personnel ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively. Provide ongoing training opportunities to enhance employee development.
Workflow Management: Distribute and supervise work assignments monitor workflow and implement strategies to ensure an efficient and effective workflow. Continuously assess and improve operational processes to optimize productivity and service delivery.
Communication and Staff Engagement: Regularly meet with staff to communicate operational changes share relevant information and seek input on improving operations. Foster a culture of open communication collaboration and engagement among team members. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other department managers physicians and stakeholders to foster effective interdisciplinary communication promote teamwork and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Staff Education and Training: Facilitate ongoing education and training programs for the radiology team to ensure continuous professional development and up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and procedures. Patient Satisfaction: Monitor patient satisfaction metrics address patient concerns or complaints and implement strategies to enhance patient experience and service delivery.
Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and monitoring including cost control measures variance analysis and financial reporting. Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies procedures and protocols ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a strong clinical background in radiology and an interest in healthcare administration and management. They should possess exceptional organizational and leadership skills with the ability to effectively oversee day-to-day operations implement best practices policies and procedures and ensure an efficient workflow. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and team-building abilities along with a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement and resolve technical challenges within the radiology department.
