DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager Workforce Optimization the Workforce Optimization Consultant provides expertise direction education and support to facilitate the achievement of the mission goals and objectives of Island Health. The Workforce Optimization Consultant builds strong liaisons with Directors and Managers across Island Health identifies staffing challenges and develops strategies to address those addition the Workforce Optimization Consultant provides insight and recommendations to various levels of management on issues that relate to both their strategic direction and day-to-day operations. The Workforce Optimization Consultants works closely with Island Health corporate partners (Human Resources Decision Support and Finance) using current advanced analytic modeling and operations research techniques to devise staffing solutions which optimize resource allocation and supports the most effective schedules and scheduling processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Business analytical or healthcare-related studies. A minimum of three years of experience in a role related to the duties of the a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
Skills And Abilities
- Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to be innovative lead influence and develop others to reach organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to participate on a multi-disciplinary team and ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
- Ability to adapt and produce high quality results in a constantly changing and developing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and perform numerous tasks for various clients within acceptable time frames.
- Excellent computer skills in order to access and manipulate data from various systems to produce reports.
- Demonstrated understanding of staff scheduling processes and Island Health organizational structure
- Demonstrated understanding of information management principles information privacy legislation and information security techniques.
- Ability to think systematically and strategically.
- Ability to create and make effective presentations to leadership teams Managers and staff.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
