Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Travel Rate: $3039/week
Local Pay: $2662.50/week
Overview
This assignment offers the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology in a supportive clinical environment while contributing to high-quality patient diagnostics.
Position Summary
The MRI Technologist will work within a hospital radiology department operating advanced magnetic resonance imaging equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. Responsibilities include patient preparation safe equipment operation adherence to imaging protocols and delivering compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and prepare MRI equipment according to protocol and patient needs.
Position patients and coils accurately to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
Educate patients about MRI procedures and safety expectations.
Review MRI safety questionnaires before each exam.
Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and ensure proper labeling and PACS transmission.
Complete required documentation in the Radiology Information System (e.g. IDX or equivalent).
Maintain equipment cleanliness report malfunctions and assist physicians as needed.
Follow strict MRI safety protocols to avoid ferromagnetic hazards.
Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.
Perform occasional clerical or support duties to maintain workflow.
Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure and competencies.
Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA/ Radiologic Technology program.
New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology (Required).
ARRT MRI registry certification (Required).
BCLS certification (Required).
Preferred: Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
Strong understanding of anatomy MRI physics and technical imaging principles.
Excellent technical communication and patient care skills.
