As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.
The Community Manager supports Canvas education community ecosystem in Indonesia including teacher communities education creators and teacher Canvassadors. The ecosystem is mature with established advocacy and training programs. We are seeking a proactive self-starter with 4-6years of experience who can independently manage day-to-day community operations while contributing to planning and improvements. The role involves maintaining content and engagement strategies across Facebook/WhatsApp handling educator and Canvassador communication coordinating education-focused activities and supporting community-led marketing initiatives. Strong English communication relationship skills and organization are essential.
At the moment this role is focused on:
- Community Engagement & Relationship Management
- Manage daily interactions across teacher communities (FB WhatsApp offline).
- Handle day-to-day queries from teachers Canvassadors and ensure timely responses.
- Maintain strong & warm relationships with teachers and education creators.
- Community Content & Channel Management
- Keep the education contents running consistently on Facebook/WhatsApp channels.
- Coordinate posting schedules community prompts and campaign-related communications.
- Ensure content aligns with education moments local needs and Canva campaigns.
- Program Ownership & Execution
- Lead recurring education community programs such as webinars workshops and creator content cycles.
- Own the operational workflow: logistics communication scheduling reporting.
- Maintain and update toolkits onboarding guides community resources and advocacy workflows.
- Community-Led Marketing Support
- Support education-related marketing campaigns launches and community moments.
- Assist in planning and running community events (virtual and physical).
- Help identify and coordinate with education partners (NGOs schools associations).
- Insights & Reporting
- Monitor community sentiment creator activity and program performance
- Share insights and recommendations to improve engagement and optimize workflows.
Youre probably a match if
- Youre a confident communicator in both English and Bahasa Indonesia written and spoken.
- You bring 46 years of experience in community education marketing or events.
- You take initiative work independently and keep programs running smoothly without needing close direction.
- Youre organized and detail-oriented able to manage multiple workstreams reliably.
- You build strong relationships with warmth and empathy always putting the community first.
- You feel comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams and simplifying workflows to make things easier for everyone.
- You may have experience working with advocacy communities education networks or event management thats a plus.
- Youre passionate about empowering others and creating positive impact through your work.

Canvas mission is to empower the world to design and in Education that means enabling every teacher and student to teach learn and create with Indonesia our education community is one of the most vibrant in the region powered by passionate teacher networks education creators and a strong Canvassador program.
This role sits within the Canva Indonesia country team specifically in the Education function. Youll work directly with the Education Country Lead to nurture support and scale our teacher community ecosystem. Youll also collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across marketing product partnerships and regional teams to ensure our programs run smoothly and deliver meaningful impact.
Beyond internal collaboration this role will engage deeply with Indonesias broader education ecosystem including schools associations and relevant government or ministry stakeholders to strengthen Canvas presence and expand our support for teachers nationwide.
