This role primarily focuses on the comprehensive management of orthopedic surgical patients in collaboration with the orthopedic surgical team nursing care management and other ancillary teams. The APP will primarily assess diagnose and manage post-surgical orthopedic patients facilitate multi-disciplinary rounds and aid in discharge planning for optimal recovery and healing. The position supports the AdventHealth ministry of Christ through whole person care- addressing the physical emotional and spiritual needs of every SUMMARY:Collectively the AdventHealth Medical group Hospital Medicine Program provides patient-centric care at our 5 hospitals in the Denver Metro of Employment with AdventHealth Medical Group2 Years of experience required (No New Grads)Competitive Salary $144433 - $155244Hospitalist APP experience preferredCommitted and collaborative hospitalist leadership teamEstablished and successful programCME allowance403b retirement planPTOMalpractice coveragePRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides daily rounding assessment and management of post operative orthopedic patients in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons/ flex to other care areas/units that Hospital Medicine covers if the Orthopedic surgical schedule/volumes decrease to optimize valueManages orthopedic consultations in a timely mannerEvaluates and manage medical comorbidities and post-surgical complications to optimize recovery and outcomesParticipates in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure effective communication discharge planning and timely patient throughputAccepts transfers of care from the orthopedic service lines if the patient is requiring increased medical management post operativelyResponds and participates in Rapid Responses and Code Blue as neededParticipates in staff education through various education modalitiesParticipates in committees and meetings as needed or assignedResponds to clinical documentation queries in a timely mannerMaintains current understanding of regulatory environmentEncourages in network utilization of resources for continuity of care unless otherwise specified by patient or physicianParticipation as needed in quality improvement initiatives and performance metricsSupports effective hospital throughput with pt managementMonday through Friday schedule inclusive of evenings and holidays based on facility and hospital medicine program needsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composureAbility to maintain effective interpersonal relationshipsExcellent clinical and communication skillsStrong commitment to providing exceptional care that is team and patient centeredPossess excellent clinical and communication skills and a strong commitment to providing excellent care that is team and patient centeredHospitalist APP experience preferredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Graduate of an MSN or DNP Nurse Practitioner ProgramGraduate of a Physician Assistant PA-C ProgramLICENSURE CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:Full Federal and State Prescriptive AuthorityEligibility to work in the United StatesCurrent ACLS CertificationPossess or have the ability to procure and maintain a Colorado Medical LicenseCurrent DEA Licensure
