About the Role
Our client a long-established environmental consulting and engineering firm (founded in 1985) is seeking a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager to lead environmental site assessments remediation programs and redevelopment initiatives. This individual will oversee full-lifecycle project delivery while ensuring federal state and local compliance and maintaining high-value client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of Brownfield redevelopment projects including environmental site assessments remediation design and construction.
- Provide guidance to clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with EPA CERCLA and state Brownfield program requirements.
- Coordinate with public/private stakeholders including developers community groups local governments and consultants.
- Lead or support proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Develop project budgets monitor expenditures and maintain cost control.
- Define project tasks schedules resource plans and risk mitigation strategies.
- Resolve project issues proactively and maintain on-time on-budget delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineers scientists contractors planners).
- Maintain continuous communication with clients and manage expectations.
- Prepare client billing details and monitor outstanding accounts receivable.
- Identify opportunities for scope expansion and additional revenue.
- Mentor junior team members and support internal training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Minimum 10 years of environmental remediation and Brownfield redevelopment experience.
- Expertise in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
- Strong understanding of remediation technologies and environmental compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Proven client relationship management skills and stable work history.
- Excellent written verbal and organizational communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising on redevelopment incentives.
- Proposal writing or business development experience.
- Mentoring and staff development experience.
- Strong financial and project budgeting skills.
Additional Details
- Hybrid schedule (2 - 3 days in-office weekly).
- Monday - Friday standard business hours; local travel to project sites.
- Limited relocation assistance available.
