POSITION - Union: Cartographer I

LOCATION: CMP - ME - Augusta - General Office

HOURLY RATE RANGE: $24.95 - $31.34

JOB SUMMARY:

This position maintains computer systems for modeling electric distribution system in accordance with company procedures and standards. Interacts with internal customers by providing technical assistance and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs updates to electric distribution related computer model transactions.
• Performs quality control checks of GIS data on related distribution systems.
• Provides specialty maps such as: switch and wall maps for Service Centers as requested.
• Assists in data requests for regulatory agencies.
• Performs daily maintenance for multiple service centers using ArcGIS software
• Performs layout of new facilities for electric distribution systems.
• Attends quarterly safety meeting.
• Other ancillary duties related to the core functions of the jobs as assigned.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Working knowledge of the GIS system
• Able to assist others with understanding of transactions.
• Able to read interpret and analyze basic design sketches.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact with other technical support personnel users and management.
• Able to interface with internal clients.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 2 years experience as a GIS Technician or 2 years related work experience.
• Ability to run associated supporting software systems ie: ArcGIS Smartmap Circuit Map Editor Microsoft Office Suite SAP.
