Job Summary
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team on a contract basis in Greenville NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance repair and calibration of a wide range of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on biomedical equipment and medical devices including hospital beds.
- Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the equipment management system.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to address equipment issues and provide technical support as needed.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new biomedical equipment.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to biomedical equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technological advancements.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent in Biomedical Equipment Technology Electronics or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment including diagnostic therapeutic and monitoring devices.
- Experience with equipment calibration preventive maintenance and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA Joint Commission and OSHA.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a healthcare environment including patient care areas. The candidate must be able to handle physical demands such as lifting equipment and working in confined spaces.
Contract Details
This is a contract position based in Greenville NC. Duration and terms will be discussed during the interview process.
