Role description:

We are seeking an experiencedMechanicalEngineerto support the design and engineering team within the Resilience global business area. Primary focus includes HVAC plumbing and fire protection design. We are committed to supporting work flexibility in the way of location and work schedules. This can accommodate a flexible work Engineering youll create some of the worlds most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together.

As a mechanical engineer you will work with project teams other junior and senior engineers project managers and clients designingHVAC plumbing and fire protectionsystems on various projects. Specifically we are seeking experience with design of these specialty project types : Critical Data Center Large Manufacturing Facilities Life Sciences Facilities and Food & Beverage Production Plants. You will be responsible for supporting design efforts and assisting the engineer of record. You will also support proposal and business development efforts.

Role accountabilities:

  • Be part of design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
  • Design for available capacity redundancy reliability efficiency and safety as well as constructability and cost.
  • Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys data collection for system studies system audits and collaboration with clients team members.
  • Knowledge of industry standards building codes and safety standards such as ASHRAE ASME SMACNA IECC ANSI UFC UBC as well as international standards such as IEC CE EN.
  • Familiarity with design and modeling of HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems using software (AutoCAD Revit BIM360 Trane Trace).
  • Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems.
  • Developing analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Some experience developing solutions to complex projects.
  • Familiarity with various system studies (thermal comfort indoor air quality humidity control energy management).
  • Support proposal efforts to win design work.
  • Work with designers to develop sealed drawings of your designs.
  • Receive mentoring from senior staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fire protection design including prescriptive performance-based design as well as full detailed design of sprinkler piping.
  • Prior work or internship consulting experience.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $61737 - $98779 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
