Job Summary
Job Summary: HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The interns primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.
Essential Functions:
- Receive coaching mentoring and feedback from leadership
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies procedures and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Perform maintenance
- Help install repair and replace mechanical and electronic components
- Clean and/or lubricate machines
- Examine and test equipment components and parts to ensure the proper functioning
- Adjust connect or disconnect wiring piping tubing and other parts using hand or power tools
- Adjust maintain and repair equipment and machine components
- Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Basic computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Basic math calculations and the ability to read write and understand work instructions
Education and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program
Travel:
- No travel is expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
- This role frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Work Environment:
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
