Job Summary
Pipe Fitter 1st Class
Gulf Copper is currently seeking an experienced PipeFitter to join our team. All applicants must successfully pass all required preemployment screening test.
- project location Guam
- project duration 2 months
- full time job of 70 hours per week
- certifications and training required: drivers license and or passport
- meal per diem $72 per day
- company will be providing housing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This positionis responsible forthe following: Other duties may be assigned.
Plan pipe system layout installation or repair according to specifications.
Inspect examine and test installed systems andpipelines using pressuregauges hydrostatic testing observation or othermethods.
Select pipe sizes and types and related materials such as supports hangers and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications.
Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
Attach pipes towallsstructuresand fixturessuch as radiators exchangersor tanks using brackets clampstoolsor welding equipment.
Assemble and secure pipes tubes fittings and related equipment according to specifications byusingwelding brazing cementingsoldering and threading joint methods.
Layoutor reviewfull scale drawings of pipe systems supports and related equipment following to provide sketches or corrections on drawings as needed.
Turn valves to shut off steam water or other gases or liquids from pipe sections using valve keys or wrenches.(Marine divisions only)
Cut thread andinstallpipe to specifications using tools such as saws cutting torches and pipe threaders and benders.
Remove and replace worncomponents.
Required Education & Experience:
High School Diplomaone year certificate from college or technical schoolpreferred.
Industrial and/or marinepipefitting experience:
1stClass:3-5 years
2ndClass:1-3 years
Pass the Gulf Copper written pipe fitter and/or hands-on pipe fitter test when applicable.
NCCER cardpreferred.
Working Conditions:
Open-air conditions such as noisy hot cold etc.
Mustwear hearing eye headprotectionand proper PPE.
Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
Aboard ships both on and offshore as well as confined spaces.
Must be able to stand andoperateequipmentup to four continuous hours.
The work requireslong periodsof sitting in awkward positions standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles bending overcrouchingand climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding ladders and internal barge and boat structural members.
