OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Engagement the Supervisor provides oversight into theoperations of the Memengwaa Program transitional housing. Ensuring that the program housing is operating in line with required policies and procedures and that staff and you receive appropriate support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • - Provide supervision for case managers support workers and other housingsupport team members.
  • - Facilitate team meetings including file reviews staff supervisory meetingsprogramming meetings etc.
  • - Coach andmentor staff on job-related skills; identify and coordinate training.
  • - Schedule casual/ part-time support staff; review and sign off on time sheets.
  • - Review and authorize leave requests and scheduling for full-time staff.
  • - Oversee placement process:
  • -Ensure placement availability is communicated
  • - Receive and review referrals
  • - Coordinate intakes with case workers SECFS other supports
  • - Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and stats maintained
  • - Ensure appropriate and effective case management procedures are being implemented.
  • - Ensure group programming is being offered in line with the goals of the organization and program; approve and oversee appropriate program spending.
  • - Provide consultation and support to staff in addressing complex youth situations such as addictions mental illness and other traumas.
  • - Provide crisis support to staff and tenants as required.
  • - Maintain positive working relationships with partners and other community organizations to help build the program and support youth.
  • - Complete reports to funders management and others as required.
  • - Support staff to utilize HIFIS and participate in working groups as needed.
  • - Train staff in stats reporting and HIFIS protocols and ensure all are submitted by team members within appropriate timelines.
  • - Complete monthly reports to management; ensure issues and program needs are reported to management on a regular ongoing basis.
  • - Provide occasional after-hours on-call support.
  • - Other duties as assigned.

Q QUALIFICATIONS:

-Post secondarytraining in a human services field and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is required.

- Knowledge of CFS and EIA systems; knowledge of the experiences of youth aging out of care/ or lived experience a definite asset.

- Experience in the housing and homelessness sector is an asset.

- Ability to work with addictions mental illness and trauma from a culturally- based and strength- based perspective.

- Knowledge of community resources and ability to network for the benefit of the program and youth.

- ASIST NVCI First Aid & CPR and other related training considered an asset.

- Possesses a strong knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and issues affecting our children families and communities; obtained prior cultural awareness and/or sensitivity training ; ability to speak Anishinaabe an asset.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent leadership skills an absolute requirement

- Ability to prioritize tasks with strong organizational skills; excellent leadership skills an absolute requirement.

- Ability to handle conflict or crises in a calm and responsive manner.

- Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations perspectives culture and philosophies.

- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

- Must be resourceful with a high attention to detail.

- Satisfactory child and adult abuse registry checks criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and Prior Contact Check required.

- Valid drivers license and satisfactory drivers abstract with access to a reliable vehicle is required.
