Job Summary:
The Home Visitor position conducts visits within a familys community focusing on optimizing the health and development of young children. This position works with parents and caregivers to provide support advocacy and service coordination using trauma informed and curriculum-based approaches. Outcomes will foster self-sufficiency prenatal care positive parenting and family dynamics health and wellness family safety and child development. The Home Visitor is responsible for completing full training on the evidence-based Parents as Teachers program and implementing the home visits in full fidelity.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum AA degree in Early Childhood Education Social Work Education Human Services or related field and two years of experience working with children and/or families in diverse communities.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience working with low-income families with children ages birth through five in their homes.
- Bilingual preferred (Karen Hmong Somali or Spanish).
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work well with families of young children challenged by economic and personal problems from socially diverse backgrounds and with other professionals.
- Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
- Maintain a valid drivers license current car insurance and use of personal vehicle for agency business.
- Knowledge of experience in case management and client advocacy preferred.
