Job Summary:
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering updating and maintaining patient and administrative data in the facilitys electronic systems. This role ensures timely and precise data input to support clinical operations billing and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry & Management:
- Input patient demographics insurance details and medical information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Update and verify data for accuracy and completeness.
- Compliance & Confidentiality:
- Handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all records.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review data for errors and correct discrepancies promptly.
- Perform routine audits to ensure data integrity.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with scanning and uploading documents into digital systems.
- Respond to internal requests for data retrieval and reporting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Experience in data entry preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g. Epic Cerner) and medical terminology.
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and discretion when handling sensitive information.
