We are recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a well-resourced primary school in Slough. The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver a sequenced KS1 curriculum that secures reading writing and mathematical outcomes lead phonics and guided-reading lessons and design targeted interventions to meet identified needs. This Year 2 Teacher post starts January 2026 with a structured induction and handover planned before January 2026 to ensure the Year 2 Teacher can begin the spring term ready to make immediate impact.

About the role
The Year 2 Teacher will create differentiated daily lessons deliver high-quality phonics teaching run small-group tuition and maintain accurate assessment records. The Year 2 Teacher will support transition into Key Stage 2 liaise with parents to share progress and take part in moderation and year-group planning across Slough. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be confident using assessment to adapt provision and to demonstrate measurable progress.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach sequenced Year 2 lessons with clear progression and purposeful differentiation.
- Deliver phonics guided-reading and targeted maths sessions to secure core skills.
- Run intervention groups monitor impact and adjust programmes to accelerate progress for Year 2 pupils.
- Collaborate with colleagues on moderation data reviews and transition planning across Slough.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and contribute to reporting cycles.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with proven KS1 experience and strong Year 2 outcomes.
- Secure phonics knowledge excellent assessment practice and effective behaviour-management strategies.
- Organised reflective and committed to teaching in Slough; available to start January 2026.
