Mainframe DB2 Developer

Location: Columbus OH (100% On-site from Day 1)

Duration: 6 Months

Rate/Salary: Competitive (Commensurate with experience and compliant with state requirements)

Trilyon is seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 Developer to support large-scale enterprise applications running on System Z platforms. The Mainframe DB2 Developer will be responsible for developing enhancing and maintaining COBOL/DB2 applications writing efficient SQL queries and creating JCL scripts to support batch this role the Mainframe DB2 Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements troubleshoot production issues and deliver optimized stable and scalable mainframe solutions. The Mainframe DB2 Developer must be highly proficient in IBM mainframe environments and able to deliver high-quality code within fast-paced project timelines.

• Design develop test and implement mainframe applications using COBOL JCL and DB2.

• Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries stored procedures and database access logic.

• Perform application maintenance debugging and troubleshooting across System Z environments.

• Develop and maintain JCL scripts to support batch jobs and critical business processes.

• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver enhancements.

• Participate in code reviews quality checks and performance tuning activities.

• Support production systems by identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.

• Document technical specifications deployment steps and system configurations.

• Follow established development standards mainframe best practices and secure coding procedures.

• 10 years of hands-on experience in COBOL JCL and DB2 application development.

• Strong expertise with System Z Enterprise COBOL and mainframe utilities.

• Experience designing tuning and troubleshooting DB2 database applications.

• Ability to write robust batch and online programs in a high-volume environment.

• Strong analytical debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Experience modernizing legacy mainframe systems.

• Familiarity with enterprise-level financial insurance or healthcare mainframe systems.
