Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as aCommisChefin the Misono Kitchen to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Head Chef you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our luxury are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Commis Chef to join our fast paced and dynamic Kitchen operation.
Critical responsibilities:
- Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum services
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
- Ensure proper portion arrangement and food garnish to be served
- Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables tools knives and equipment
- Set-up clean and break down work station
- Apply sushi-making skills and techniques in the Sushi Bar
- Make to order guest requests as per menu item
- Organize interactive sushi class for kids
Successful Candidates will have:
- Previous experience in a similar environment will be viewed favorably
- Strong food safety knowledge
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- Passion for food and aspirations to grow your culinary career
