Under general supervision the Coordinator for Student Organizations strengthens the student organization experience by coordinating recognition processes supporting policy compliance guiding event planning and facilitating advisor engagement. It enhances campus involvement through training communication and resource development while ensuring consistent standards fostering community and supporting signature programs that promote meaningful student participation.

  • Oversees the university recognition process for student organizations.
  • Processes and approves registration applications for returning organizations fraternity and sorority organizations and honors organizations by conducting eligibility checks reviewing constitutions verifying the completion of required trainings and the submission of required documentation.
  • Interprets and applies CSU Systemwide University and department policy procedures and guidelines when advising students student organizations and advisors on recognition procedures and student organization-sponsored events.
  • Reviews programs events and activities for consistent application of risk management standards.
  • Plans the fall and spring Meet the Clubs and the Student Organization Leadership Awards ceremony.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job-related is preferred.

  • Equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience including one year in student affairs is preferred.
  • A Masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
