Position Summary: The purpose of the Sanitation Supervisor role is to ensure that the Sanitation Department is properly and adequately maintaining sanitary product / environment at the Hellas Wholesale Bakery. This position works with the Production Management to manage supervise and coordinate activities with food safety and sanitation programs. The position is responsible for supervision of plant cleaning sanitation and compliance with GMPs Good Safety Practices sanitation policies and procedures. The Sanitation Supervisor will be a back up to the Production Managers. About Us: Hellas Bakery & Pita is a family-owned and operated landmark located in the heart of Tarpon Springs Florida. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include but are not limited to the following: - Facility cleaning (including dishwashing mopping etc).
- Performs a variety of temperature checks and makes logs (this includes corrective action).
- Monitors a variety of machines ensuring they are running properly coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Works with production manager to do daily weekly monthly and annual sanitation/cleaning projects.
- Coordinates with supervisors and maintenance personnel to determine sanitation requirements of bakery equipment and machinery.
- Supervises adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices regarding sanitation procedures.
- Monitors and audits making adjustments if necessary to processing and packaging chemical equipment cleaning systems/procedures to ensure optimal cleanliness.
- Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory sanitation quality and food safety standards as well as employee safety and environmental standards.
- Works closely with management and production personnel on sanitation problems; recommending changes to improve sanitation policies procedures and cleaning effectiveness.
- Performs comprehensive sanitation audits on each unique production process to determine sanitation effectiveness.
- Communicates reports/trends/issues regarding inspections sanitation deviations and steps taken to resolve deficiencies to Ownership Management and the Quality Assurance Dept. Daily communication is a must.
- Conducts training programs for all sanitation procedures and is responsible for the development and training of sanitation personnel.
- Understands chemical specifications and their effectiveness/proper application for different processing and packaging equipment SSOPs and is able to read and interpret SDS (Safety Data Sheets) to ensure proper and safe usage.
- Conducts scheduled sanitation validation audits including dismantling and inspecting critical processing and packaging equipment to ensure proper clean ability/sanitization.
- Builds partnerships with production quality and human resources to ensure sanitation and people goals are met.
- Establish goals for employees guide employees for development and improvement.
- Provide feedback to employees and counseling for positive and opportunity performance.
- Promotes a positive work environment.
- Takes ownership of the area of responsibility completing sanitation tasks alongside of team.

- Must be quality conscientious and detail oriented. HACCP GMP experience is preferred.
Education and/or Experience: - Minimum of 2 years experience in equivalent position with proven skills in successful leadership.
- Minimum of 3 year in Professional Manufacturing cleaning industrial dishwashing or similar positions.
Other: - Must possess the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
