Job Summary
Duties
- Provide daily care for calves including feeding watering and monitoring health status
- Assist with calf housing management ensuring cleanliness and proper ventilation
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors irrigation systems and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment using hand tools power tools welding or equipment repair skills
- Supervise farm staff or interns as needed ensuring tasks are completed accurately and safely
- Assist with general farm chores including heavy lifting equipment operation and handling livestock
- Maintain detailed records of calf health feeding schedules and growth progress
- Support other farm activities such as planting irrigation management greenhouse work or horticulture tasks as required
Requirements
- animal husbandry and animal handling techniques
- Supervising experience in a farm or agricultural environment preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery equipment repair welding and power tools operation
- Familiarity with farming practices including irrigation systems greenhouse management horticulture and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a farm setting
- Basic math skills for measurements and record keeping
- Strong understanding of animal care standards and health monitoring procedures
- Experience with equine or other livestock handling is advantageous
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for farm machinery and equipment used in agriculture operations
