Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Operate farm machinery including tractors harvesters irrigation systems and other heavy equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform equipment maintenance repairs welding and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal functioning of all machinery.
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding handling and caring for livestock including horses and other farm animals.
- Supervise farm personnel as needed providing guidance on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Manage irrigation systems and greenhouse operations to promote healthy crop growth.
- Use hand tools and power tools for repairs installations and general farm maintenance.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks related to feed supplies or equipment movement across the farm.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all operational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage repairs and animal care activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in farming operations or agriculture-related roles; supervising experience is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repair and welding tasks.
- Familiarity with farm machinery heavy equipment operation irrigation systems and horticulture practices.
- Experience in animal husbandry animal handling and animal care including equine experience preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other specialized power tools safely.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to farming activities.
- Knowledge of greenhouse management and growing techniques is advantageous.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting long periods of standing or walking across large farm areas.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues; familiarity with hand tools essential.
- Valid drivers license required; experience with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare while maintaining safety standards across all operations.
