Job Summary
A Research Fellow position is available at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for an expert in non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). We are seeking a highly experienced scientist with deep technical expertise in NTM genetics microbiology and drug discovery.
The successful candidate will perform recombineering in NTM conduct cell-based assays and drive mode-of-action studies including target validation genetic investigations and in vivo experiments. The Research Fellow will also supervise day-to-day scientific activities related to microbiology genetics assay development and cell-based screening to support chemical optimisation and target validation efforts. This work will directly contribute to the characterization of new inhibitors elucidation of their mechanisms and hit-to-lead optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform recombineering in non-tuberculous mycobacteria.
Conduct cell-based assays microbiological studies and genetic investigations.
Lead mode-of-action studies including target validation and in vivo experiments.
Oversee routine scientific activities and experimental workflows in microbiology genetics and assay development.
Support compound characterization hit-to-lead studies and chemical optimization efforts.
Provide scientific guidance and supervision within the research team.
Job Requirements
A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
Extensive technical experience and proven expertise in non-tuberculous mycobacteria genetics microbiology and drug discovery.
Strong research track record in recombineering assay development and mode-of-action studies.
Experience with both in vitro and in vivo experimental models is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
