DescriptionThe D&R (Design & Release) Engineer is responsible to design develop validate and release parts under
his/her responsibility for the assigned programs. The D&R is also responsible to look for design improvements to increase quality and cost / weight optimization. The D&R engineer is responsible to design parts in order to comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation considering the WCR (Worldwide Customers Requirements) ES (Engineering Specifications) and SDS (Systems Design specifications) as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements. The engineer is also responsible of parts incorporation at the Assembly Plant.
Responsibilities- Comply with Program cost weight quality performance and timing targets.
- Understand and apply GPDS (Global Product Development System) process.
- Comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality History P Diagram FMEA etc).
- Knowledge and application of six sigma and 8D.
- Develop ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work) and participate in the Sourcing Process (SA ED&T review piece and tooling cost review and CPA).
- Follow the TDR process (Technical Design Review).
- Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle. Support the Change Control Meeting. - Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage for prototype builds and maintain it post Job 1.
- Be aware of Worldwide Engineering changes and proceed accordingly - Identify validation durability and functional test required as per SDS & ES. (DVP / eFDVS).
- AIMS and VVT resolution.
- Define and verify engineering prototypes requirements at part level.
- Parts implementation/Sign-off in assembly plant & assistance with quality issues in all milestones.
- PDLs revisions and proceed accordingly if affected.
- Support VQRs VRTs and PVT as required.
- Jointly with purchasing identify potential suppliers to develop identified parts to be localized.
- Jointly with STA give technical assistance to supplier through the Supplier Engagement Process.
- Comply with objectives set during first quart of the year.
Qualifications- Engineering Degree.
- English proficiency.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others.
- General knowledge of vehicle functions.
- Vision and knowledge of automotive industry environment.
- 3D CAD knowledge (opening files visualization measurements etc.).
- Microsoft Office management (Word Excel and Power Point).
- Basic knowledge of materials properties.
- Basic knowledge on production process.
