Position Summary
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining the organizations health safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards. This role promotes a culture of safety awareness and accountability focusing on risk reduction employee training and incident prevention. The Safety Manager partners with all departments to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain company-wide safety and environmental policies procedures and programs in compliance with OSHA EPA and ISO standards.
Conduct regular inspections audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Investigate accidents incidents and near misses documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
Facilitate safety committee meetings and lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen safety culture.
Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures emergency response and regulatory compliance.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents metrics and compliance documentation.
Monitor safety and environmental performance indicators identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate emergency response drills and oversee preparedness plans.
Maintain communication with regulatory agencies and ensure company compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
Manage workers compensation claims and return-to-work programs in coordination with HR.
Lead internal audits for ISO 45001 (Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) compliance.
Partner with leadership and supervisors to proactively resolve safety concerns and improve workplace conditions.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Safety Management Environmental Science Industrial Engineering or a related field.
510 years of experience in occupational health safety and environmental management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Certified training or credentials in ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 standards preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA and other regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated success in developing and leading safety programs and initiatives.
Exceptional communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks interpret data and recommend solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.

Working Environment
This position operates in both office and plant environments. The role requires regular presence on the production floor to observe operations conduct audits and engage with employees. Exposure to noise machinery and variable temperatures may occur. Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
