Job Summary

The Senior Scheduler plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development and management of complex project schedules ensuring seamless integration of project milestones and adherence to industry regulations and standards. The role holder actively monitors project advancement identifies potential risks and implements strategic interventions to maintain project timelines and quality requirements. The Senior Scheduler collaborates intensively with project executives cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to drive the successful execution and delivery of projects. The role holder provides mentorship to junior team members guiding them in the development and refinement of project schedules conducting in-depth data analysis and producing insightful reports to inform decision-making processes.

  • Develop and lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules and establish baselines to align with strategic project objectives and timelines.
  • Oversee and evaluate project progress by tracking milestones and deliverables promptly reporting any issues or deviations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with cross-functional project teams to ensure seamless integration and synchronisation of scheduling activities across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Execute updates and sustained management of project management tools schedules and databases to guarantee precision and timely dissemination of reporting insights.
  • Facilitate robust clear and effective communication channels among project stakeholders including senior engineers contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Proactively identify and assess potential project risks developing and implementing advanced mitigation strategies to safeguard project outcomes.
  • Enforce strict compliance with all regulations standards and policies related to project scheduling ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Provide expert scheduling insights and strategic recommendations to support the PMO & Assurance function in achieving its operational and project objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of key project documentation including detailed status reports comprehensive meeting minutes and performance analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement advocating for best practice scheduling methodologies to enhance project delivery performance and drive superior outcomes.
  • Analyse and monitor critical path items and float erosion advising leadership on necessary corrective actions to maintain project trajectory.
  • Establish and meticulously monitor project budgets and costs ensuring precise cost forecasts and profiles that support financial transparency and accountability.
  • Expertly assess work valuation and accruals guaranteeing costs are accurately booked to appropriate codes and reflected in financial reporting.
  • Manage information requirements from Delivery Teams ensuring data is effectively captured reported and maintained for accuracy and strategic use.
  • Lead the preparation of high-level summary reports to spotlight project issues risks upcoming milestones and necessary actions driving timely interventions when required.
  • Advocate for and support the Project Manager and entire Project Team to ensure projects are delivered punctually within budgetary constraints and in alignment with defined project objectives.
  • Perform additional tasks activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the role.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g. Project Management Business Administration etc.   
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Desirable

Experience

 

  • 10-15 years experience in project control activities and a proven track record of handling such activities in high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale / complexity.  
  • Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable preferably within the construction sector.
  • Previous experience in a similar project management role.

Skills

  • Strong project management skills to oversee the planning execution and completion of the project.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders including customers regulatory bodies and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with document management systems (DMS) databases and software such as Microsoft Office SharePoint or specialised document control software.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management principles and practices to align document control activities with project goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.
  • Expertise in identifying assessing and mitigating risks associated with the project.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Experience in quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to individuals and groups both technical and non-technical.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
