Job Summary

Reports to: Pharmacy Operations Leader
Wage Range: $32.32 - $37.26 (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: Days/Evenings/Weekends
Status: Temporary Full-Time (End Date  July 3 2026)
Closing Date: December 11 2025

Position Summary
As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Operations Team the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for:

Duties

  • Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities as per master worksheets;
  • replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas;
  • ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system;
  • completing all required reports and documentation;
  • attending participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions;
  • performing workload measurement support functions;
  • and performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required 
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required 
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery (e.g. Pyxis unit dose machine).
  • Ability to work variable shifts
  • Two years practical and related experience preferred
  • Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service preferred
