The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Materials Coordinator to oversee the complete lifecycle of materials on-site from receipt to installation. You will act as the critical link between procurement vendors and the construction execution team ensuring that the right materials are in the hands of the crews exactly when they are needed.
This role requires a candidate who is comfortable working outdoors in a laydown yard environment and possesses strong administrative skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
This is 14/14 rotation working 12 hours/day. Charter flights are provided from either Edmonton or Calgary with flight allowances based on the province located.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inspection: Physically receive all incoming freight; verify quantities against Purchase Orders (POs) and Packing Slips. Inspect materials for damage or defects and generate Over Short & Damaged (OS&D) reports immediately.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain site laydown yards and warehouses. Ensure materials are stored safely logically and protected from environmental factors (winterization).
- Documentation & QA/QC: Verify and file Material Test Reports (MTRs) and ensure all material matches ISOs/drawings and specifications before issuance.
- Issuance: Manage the material issuance process (Bag and Tag) for work packages. Coordinate with General Foremen and Superintendents to forecast material needs for upcoming shifts.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate offloading equipment (cranes/loaders) and schedule incoming/outgoing freight trucks.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate material trackers (Excel/ERP) and provide daily/weekly reports on material status to Project Management.
- Site Demobilization: Manage surplus inventory returns to vendors and site cleanup at project completion.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of Material Management experience in industrial oil & gas construction (pipeline facility or structural).
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to manage large tracking sheets) and experience with inventory management software.
- Equipment: Valid Zoom Boom / Telehandler ticket and experience operating a forklift is highly preferred.
- Drivers License: Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract.
- Education: Supply Chain Management certification or Red Seal Trade background is an asset.
- Safety: Commitment to OCLs safety culture.
- Must have the following safety tickets: CSTS-09/CSTS 2020 Common Safety Orientation (CSO) H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid is an asset to have
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must be willing to complete a criminal background check
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
