Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing maintaining and executing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the manufacturing facility. This role ensures alignment between customer demand plant capacity and material availability to support on-time delivery efficient production flow and optimized inventory levels. The ideal candidate has strong planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing or EMS environment excellent analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Supply Chain Production Program Management Engineering and Quality organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop publish and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on backlog customer forecasts and capacity constraints.
Balance customer requirements with available labor equipment and material resources to optimize throughput and plant performance.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure material availability identify shortages and proactively mitigate risks.
Monitor adherence to the schedule analyze variances and adjust plans due to changes in demand supply or capacity.
Provide production visibility and schedule updates to management highlighting risks constraints and recovery plans.
Integrate NPIs engineering changes and product transfers into the production schedule.
Lead the S&OP process ensuring alignment across Sales/Program Management Operations and Finance.
Support Program Managers with delivery commitments and customer communication regarding schedule status.
Track and report scheduling KPIs including schedule adherence capacity utilization and on-time delivery performance.
Recommend and implement improvements to scheduling tools methods and processes to increase accuracy and responsiveness.
Train and mentor planning staff to strengthen overall scheduling capability.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Operations Industrial Engineering or related field.
57 years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Macola preferred).
Understanding of capacity planning rough-cut planning and material requirements planning.
Proven ability to balance customer requirements plant capacity and material constraints.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Excel and advanced planning tools.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in an EMS or PCBA manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with high-mix low-to-mid volume production environments.
Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement tools related to planning and flow.
Experience supporting NPIs and engineering changes in a manufacturing setting.
