Job Summary

The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is committed to advancing the health of infants children and adolescents through innovative medical care research education training and advocacy. With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. Ranked among the top in the nation by US News and World Report we attract medical students interns postdoctoral scholars residents fellows and faculty from around the world. We offer broad-based training in general pediatrics critical care and pediatric subspecialties within a variety of ambulatory inpatient and community settings. Integrated with our educational activities these programs provide hands-on learning to equip our graduates with the skills theyll need as future advocates of childrens health.

The Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/ Stanford Medicine Childrens Health is recruiting a part-time (0.6 FTE) Clinician Educator at the rank of Clinical Instructor Clinical Assistant Professor Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care teaching administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities of this part-time (0.6 FTE) position will include weekday and weekend direct patient care of newborns as well as teaching of medical students and pediatric residents. For qualified candidates opportunities are available to participate in scholarship quality improvement and development of innovative care programs. Faculty will work in the Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital (LPCH).

The successful candidate must have an MD or equivalent board certification in pediatrics eligibility for a California medical license and experience in the care of term newborns. Proficiency in neonatal circumcision neonatal frenotomy lactation counseling and the ability to communicate well and work cooperatively within a large team of health-care providers is highly desirable. Proficiency in Spanish language is preferred but not required.

Clinical Assistant Professor: $214000 - $227000

Clinical Associate Professor: $245000 - $258000

Clinical Professor: $296000 - $311000


This pay range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicines faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
