This role is part of Alcons Sales & Sales Support function a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly.
The Principal Clinical Applications Services & Support (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for providing field support conducting on-site education and fostering customer relations with healthcare professionals. You will also develop presentations for product awareness and share data analysis with clinical research groups. Specifics include:
Provide field support to customers and field staff
Establish and maintain relations with healthcare professionals and organizations
Conduct on-site education and consulting
Develop and participate in presentations for conventions forums and meetings for product awareness
Share product information and data analysis with clinical research groups
Contribute to all aspects of global clinical trials ensuring delivery of study outcomes within schedule budget quality/compliance and performance standards
Ensure education implementation and compliance with standards and best practices for clinical operations within assigned clinical trials and programs sharing lessons learned from clinical operations
Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss project updates and implement tools for better team collaboration
Develop and implement strategic measures to enhance clinical application services

Alcon is looking to hire a Clinical Application Specialist at Mumbai. The Clinical Applications Specialist position is responsible for training customers (Surgeons and Staff) on the approved utilization of Alcon products to ensure safe and appropriate use for optimal patient outcomes.
Responsible for -Providing clinical training and support to internal associates and health care providers/surgeons. -Conducting on-site and remote education delivery and clinical consulting with ongoing support to surgical healthcare professionals and organizations - Operating room/real-time surgical consultancy in support of advanced technologies and procedural outcomes. Participating and developing presentations for conventions forums and meetings for the purpose of product development and adoption -Sharing product information/data analysis for clinical testing/research groups and R&D Requires advanced education in a health-care related field and clinical experience preferred in ophthalmology.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical and clinical training education and ongoing clinical support to train surgeons and Operating Room (OR) staff on the approved use and application of Alcons Cataract and Refractive Surgical Device products.
Provide on-site and/or remote clinical application support to customers by providing scientific and technical information in response to inquiries regarding approved use of Alcon medical devices.
Ensure successful implementation of all equipment and software upgrades at clinical sites for all relevant devices.
Provide clear and accurate documentation of each site visit via a standardized reporting mechanism (CRM Tool) within 48 hours of completion of the visit.
Identify and report all adverse events and device deficiencies to Medical Safety per company protocol.
Refer inquiries related to unapproved uses of technologies.
Address reports of Adverse Events requiring root cause analysis and requests for feedback/input from physicians as requested by Clinical Applications management in cooperation with Medical Safety as appropriate.
Collaborate as appropriate with Field Service Engineers to support clinical sites on new installations site support and trouble shooting.
Collaborate as appropriate with the Field Service team and Sales Reps to ensure clinical training is scheduled for new installations and needs for ongoing surgical support.
Provide constant feedback to R&D via approved communication plan on clinical performance of products.
Respond to unsolicited requests for information related to Alcon medical devices per SOPs and Ethics and Compliance Guidelines.
Attend and support Medical Congresses fellowships conferences exhibits seminars and wet-labs as requested by Clinical Applications management.
Assist with convention demonstrations as deemed appropriate by management per SOPs.
Achieve clinical certifications to meet requirements and scope of responsibilities.
Responsible for adverse event and product complaint handling related activities at a local level including the collection intake and forwarding the information to the Local Vigilance Representative.
Adherence to all corporate compliance guidelines & corporate programs
