TheCity of Antioch is currently accepting applications for the Senior Economic Development Program Manager within theEconomic Development Division. The Economic Development Division (which is part of the Community & Economic Development Department) is responsible for the Citys efforts to attract retain expand and assist businesses in Antioch generating wealth through which community benefits are realized. Our end goal is a business community known for its complexity and diversity. We support a wide range of programs and initiatives to help existing businesses and attract new ones. Outreach to businesses property owners and commercial real estate brokers is a key component of the divisions strategy.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under executive direction from the Community & Economic Development Director manages the Citys Economic Development Division including:
- Developing and managing programs and projects designed to help existing businesses.
- Responding to and collaborating with commercial real estate brokers property owners property managers and business owners to support existing businesses and attract new businesses and commercial development to Antioch.
- Assisting with the development of the Economic Development Element of the General Plan.
- Promoting community vitality and quality of life improvements by supporting commercial real estate and businesses development in the City.
- Managing Economic Development staff.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Participate in all economic development efforts and activities leading certain programs and projects as assigned by executive management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of economic development goals objectives and priorities; recommend and administer relevant policies and procedures.
- Within City policy monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend resource allocations accordingly.
- Make presentations to the City Council community and businessgroups.
- Participate in the development and administration of economic development programs and activities; recommend budgetary adjustments as appropriate and prepare cost estimates on special projects.
- Act as liaison to the Economic Development Commission the Chamber of Commerce and other community and regional groups as directed by the City Manager.
- Coordinate the efforts of City departments and other groups relative to the Citys economic development activities.
- Coordinate information activities on City programs and oversee a centralized public information program including but not limited to news releases newsletters and other publications on various City programs.
- Develop and implement plans for improved communications with thepublic.
- Participate in the negotiation of development agreements and other contracts related to economic development activities.
- Work with key executive and senior staff to develop a municipal marketingplan.
- Coordinate consultants and City staff in securing funding for economic development projects and activities.
- Prepare and present staff reports and other necessary correspondence.
- Represent the City as directed to elected officials and outside agencies; coordinate assigned activities with City departments and outside agencies and organizations.
- Oversee the Citys property assets and assist in negotiation implementation and monitoring of lease agreements and the sale of real property assets.
- Participate on a variety of boards commissions and committees; serve as primary staff to the Economic Development Commission.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of new trends and developments in the fields of economic development; recommend actions to incorporate new developments as appropriate.

Possession of an appropriate valid drivers license.
