About the role

The Service Innovation team under Marketing in Divisional SMI is responsible for defining and driving the delivery of the Innovation roadmap for innovations where the packaging product is not the main value driver encompassing both service-only and product-plus-service innovations. The Customer Supply Chain Innovation Lead is pivotal in developing and delivering service propositions within the Strategic Innovation agenda particularly in the growth areas Supply Chain Insights and Channel Agility.

The purpose of the role is to translate customer supply chain pain points into scalable service propositions that deliver measurable topline value. Blending supply chain expertise digital savviness and innovation capability this role works directly with 80s customers and the Customer Value Team to uncover pain points in their supply chains and identify opportunities. The role is further responsible for co-creating (digital) solutions developing business cases with customer data and supporting the development and commercialization of new revenue-generating service propositions as a subject-matter expert.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with account teams and the Customer Value team to identify challenges in customer supply chain operations and strategic goals for the medium-term (next five years)

  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to identify scalable service innovation opportunities that could address the pain points and deliver topline value

  • Focus on CBU and sub-regional key accounts (whales top 80s most wanted) in FMCG Industrial and Ecommerce as per innovation roadmap

  • Support product managers to obtain data and insights for market opportunity sizing leveraging internal and external network

  • Translate customer insights into actionable briefs for product managers and service designers Identify the customer value pools and the value that solving the problem would bring

  • Support business case creation with customer data

  • Ensure solutions are operationally feasible commercially viable and scalable across customer segments

  • Provide expert input to product managers and local teams during pilot/MVP and rollout ensuring alignment with customer expectations and operational capabilities

  • Lead/support supply chain workstreams within all innovation platforms

  • Stay ahead of supply chain trends technologies and sustainability practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of the innovation portfolio (Services Roadmap) with fresh ideas and market intelligence

About You

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Industrial Engineering Logistics Business Administration Operations Management

  • Expertise in end-to-end supply chain design including demand planning inventory optimisation distribution network design customer fulfilment models

  • Familiarity with IoT for real-time tracking and smart packaging advanced analytics & AI for forecasting and scenario planning digital twins for supply chain simulation Blockchain for traceability and transparency Control towers and visibility platforms

  • Knowledge of supply chain KPIs and familiarity with sustainable supply chain practices (e.g. circularity carbon tracking)

  • Ability to assess impact of innovations on cost service level and footprint

  • Skilled in service blueprinting and customer journey mapping

  • Experience in co-creation with customers and cross-functional teams

  • Ability to lead pilot programs and scale successful innovations

  • Strong experience in FMCG (additional experience in industrial sectors would be advantageous)

  • Demonstrable success in identifying and solving complex supply chain challenges through innovation (ideally with revenue-generating rather than cost-cutting solutions)

  • Strong presence and impact as well as excellent stakeholder management skills.
