Job Summary
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly capable proactive experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to help build our database infrastructure.
- Participate in the migration of legacy SQL data to new PostgreSQL databases
- Apply expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning and data migration
- Work hands-on with AWS to manage and optimize environments
- Administer maintain and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor performance tune queries and manage indexes/statistics.
- Implement and manage backup recovery and high availability strategies.
- Perform system administration tasks including patching scripting and server configuration.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in production and non-production environments.
- Document procedures configurations and best practices.
- Migrate legacy data from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years experience in the following:
- Database Administration
- Implementing data policies procedures standards
- Planning and development of an organizations enterprise data model
- Resolving data conflicts
- Managing data repositories
- U.S. citizenship required.
- A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with AWS.
- Knowledge of EAV data model.
